M&M went into business in 1985, with two "M" partners —Matt & Murph— and one El Camino truck as support staff.
Until 2011 Matt's late wife Claudette was the friendly voice answering the phone. After Murph went out on his own years ago, she lovingly referred to "M&M" as meaning "Matt and Me."
Matt and his company are local through and through. He grew up in Newton Upper Falls and ran M&M out of his home in Needham for most of the company's existence.
Outside of work he enjoys ice hockey, restoring classic trucks cars and motorcycles. In 2012 he fulfilled his dream of building a race car with his friends and taking a cross-country road trip to race down the Salt Flats of Nevada!
Matt's daughter Kristin has always been a member of the M&M family, and she stepped up as the business Office Manager in 2011.
She has been overwhelmed and humbled by the kind words and honest praise for her mother's shining personality and magical way of helping customers. She's been working hard to fill Claudette's giant shoes, often with her 6 and 2-year-old daughters as office mascots.
When she's not keeping the business running smoothly, you'll find her pursuing her passion of horseback riding.
